- A travel insurance plan is Named Peril insurance; it only covers you for the perils or events that are listed in its Description of Coverage. If it's not listed (or specifically excluded) it's not covered. Unforseen events covered include: * You, your companion or a family member has a medical emergency or dies *You need emergency transportation / evacuation *Your cruise line, airline or tour operator goes broke (unless the supplier's in bankruptcy now) *Bad weather *A plane crash *Lost, stolen or damaged luggage *You're laid off from your job of at least 3 years' employment *A city you're visiting has a terrorist incident *Cruise ship sicknesses
- no,not without defrauding someone
- No - because you are aware of the fact that you wish to cancel the flight. Also: travel insurance would not cover cancellation in this sort of instance even if you had purchased the insurance policy before your spat. Cancellation is usually limited to very few reasons e.g. illness, death in family, house burnt down, jury service or advised not to travel on medical grounds.
- That would be considered fraudulent in most places. The company would seek to recover any payments and would probably be entitled to prosecute.
- None of the insurers I am aware of have a policy that will cover this. However, you really should be speaking to your insurer as they have the policy details and know whether they will pay a claim.
- No, I wanted not to take a flight once, and I carefully read the fine-print of my travel insurance, you cannot!
- Agree with tonalc1. You probably cannot cancel your holiday using a Travel Insurance plan because it would only cover accidents (acts of God)
